You can return your item to Mobile Delivery when it returns to your stop or to any NPL library location. All library branches have outdoor book returns where books may be returned. Audiovisual materials, such as CDs and DVDs, may be returned in AV returns, available at some locations. WiFi Hotspots must be returned to Mobile Delivery or at the circulation desk inside library locations.
If you are unable to make your stop, please contact any NPL library location to request a renewal. Patrons are responsible for ensuring all items are returned before the due date.
You can renew your item by using NPL's online catalog or by contacting any library location and asking for a renewal.
Mobile Delivery was launched in summer 2020. At the time, all but three library locations in the City of Norfolk had been closed. Mobile Delivery's goal was to provide limited library services to patrons unable to reach the open library locations of Jordan-Newby Anchor Branch at Broad Creek, Mary D. Pretlow Anchor Branch and Slover Library. Patrons were able to request and receive library holds, do minor browsing and return items.
As Norfolk Public Library's open locations and hours have increased, Mobile Delivery stops have adapted. Mobile Delivery continually seeks to provide excellent service where its services are needed most. To that end, stops are added and removed based on the number of patrons who utilize them.
