The first two buildings at Kindred exemplify architecture that is family-centric, modern, diverse, aesthetically pleasing, and complimentary of the neighborhood. Visionary and sustainable, Kindred property designs are also based on resident input during hundreds of hours of community meetings.

Largely built over an old creek bed, Tidewater Gardens frequently flooded, adding to the deterioration of its outdated infrastructure and making roads and thoroughfares impassable when it rained. Kindred’s infrastructure is specifically engineered to connect individuals and vehicles to Norfolk’s vast network of streets, roads and public transportation while lifting housing outside the floodplain.
