The City of Norfolk is pleased to announce a competitive Safer Communities Subgrant funding opportunity for community-based organizations working to advance public safety, reduce violence, and strengthen outcomes for youth and families.
This initiative invests Safer Communities Grant funding directly into neighborhoods by supporting trusted, community-led organizations with deep local relationships and lived experience. Funded programs will address both immediate safety needs and the long-term drivers of violence through prevention, mentorship, and intervention strategies.

- Community Violence Intervention (CVI)
- Youth Engagement & Mentorship (YEAM)
- Prevention (PREV)
Funding Details
- Award range: $25,000–$100,000
- Service period: March 1 – June 30, 2026
- Initial advance: Up to 25%, with monthly reimbursement based on invoices and program activity reports

- Review period: February 16–18
- Award notifications: February 20
