Project Information
Princess Anne Road is one of Norfolk’s older corridors and is in need of significant upgrades to enhance safety, accessibility, and mobility. The Department of Transportation is undertaking a comprehensive improvement project to modernize this vital roadway.
Key features of the project include:
- Traffic Signal Upgrades: Modernizing signals where needed to improve traffic flow and safety.
- Enhanced Pedestrian Infrastructure: Installing wider sidewalks, high-visibility crosswalks, and pedestrian refuges to create a safer and more accessible environment for those on foot.
- Support for Multi-Modal Transportation: Accommodations will be made for buses, bicycles, and other forms of transportation to promote a more connected and sustainable travel network.
- Traffic Calming Measures: Implementing strategies to reduce vehicle speeds and improve overall safety along the corridor.
