Conservation Education

The Park Rangers' conservation education and community engagement programs foster an environmentally conscious relationship throughout the city. Programs and events provide a deeper understanding and connection to natural resources within the City of Norfolk, encouraging residents to interact and engage with the environment surrounding them. The Conservation Team offers a variety of programs to interact with the landscape, flora, and fauna of Norfolk through such programs as Birding with a Ranger, Park Explorers, and Boater Safety.  These, and many more unique programs, allow attendees to learn, grow, and experience the natural world in Norfolk. The Conservation Park Ranger Unit continues to improve innovative stewardship initiatives, by connecting residents to their local ecosystem, parks, and trails.
