The Norfolk Police Department's Public Information Office is responsible for the official dissemination of information from the department to local and national media outlets and to the public. The Public Information Office is committed to maintaining a strong police-media partnership by providing accurate and updated information related to active incidents, ongoing investigations, special events, and Freedom of Information Act requests.

The Norfolk Crime Line (888-562-5887) remains a powerful and effective tool for providing investigators with valuable information on a variety of cases. The Norfolk Police Department's Crime Line Coordinator is responsible for collecting information from active cases and relaying that information to the general public through local media outlets and social media.
