About the U.P.L.I.F.T. Awards
U.P.L.I.F.T. stands for Unity, Public Service, Leadership, Innovation, Friendship and Teamwork.
The Community U.P.L.I.F.T. Awards recognize individuals, civic leagues, community organizations, businesses, non-profits, faith-based organizations that make a meaningful impact in the community to help others.
Each year, Neighborhood Engagement seeks nominations from the community and announce the winners at a special ceremony.
Community U.P.L.I.F.T. Awards Nomination Criteria:
- Contribution or service must "uplift" the community in a way that promotes unity, public service, leadership, innovation, friendship or teamwork.
- Nominees contribute to the broader community.
- Contribution or services must take place in Norfolk and/or benefit Norfolk residents.
- Nominations must be submitted by someone other than the individual/group being nominated.
- Contribution or service must have been performed anytime since September 2024.
- Nominees cannot be past UPLIFT Award winners.
- Nominations should not be political in nature or include any remarks disparaging of others.
- Pictures and videos are encouraged.
