Registration is required though walk-ins will be accepted.
Conference fees do not cover any meals. You are welcome to bring your own lunch or visit a nearby restaurant. Cuisine at Slover will be open and there are many restaurants within walking distance of Slover Library. We will have a handout at the conference with nearby restaurants.
There are several places to park. Best place to park at the lowest day rate is the South Garage at MacArthur Center(closest to Dillard's).
There are parking garages near the library:
Main Street Garage – Entrance on Atlantic Street
Fountain Park Garage – Entrance on Bank Street
Hilton Norfolk’s The Main Garage – Entrance on Plume Street
We also have the MacArthur Square light rail station just opposite the library. You can park at any of the free parking lots beside other light rail stations and ride the train into Downtown.
Yes… we do and you are welcome to use it even if you are from out of town. There is a simple login that library staff can provide to you.
Do you have to have a NPL library card to access the collection?
No… You don’t need a card to access our physical holdings and you can access our databases for free through our WiFi within the building. However, if you want to use our public computers or our photo quality scanners in SMC, then you will need a NPL library card or a NPL internet only card. If you live out of state, you can still get a NPL Internet only card.
