Beginning Monday, Jan. 12, all phone calls to the Norfolk Animal Care Center (NACC) will be routed through the Norfolk Cares Center, the City’s centralized customer service hub. This transition is part of a broader effort to streamline communication, improve response times, and provide residents with a single, consistent point of contact for city services.
The NACC phone number, (757) 441‑5505, will remain the same. Calls will be answered by Norfolk Cares Citizen Service Advisors Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. After hours, callers may leave a voicemail that will be monitored and addressed the next business day.
Residents may also submit animal‑related requests through the “Norfolk Animal Care Center Concern” option in the MyNorfolk app or at www.mynorfolk.org, offering additional flexibility and convenience.
Residents can also contact NACC via email at nacc@norfolk.gov.
NACC’s in‑person operations, hours, and services remain unchanged. NACC is located at 5585 Sabre Rd. and is open daily except Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for administration and 1:30 p.m.to 6 p.m. for adoptions.
For urgent concerns involving injured, sick, stray, or endangered animals, residents should continue contacting Animal Protection at (757) 441‑5610.
