Driver of vehicle involved in fatal Lowery Road crash identified
NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Police have identified the driver involved in a fatal crash that occurred on Lowery Road earlier this morning.
The driver has been identified as John Paul Manning, 77, of Fayetteville, N.C.
At approximately 12:31 a.m., officers responded to the 5600 block of Lowery Road for a report of a single-vehicle crash involving a Honda SUV.
Manning was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital by Norfolk Fire-Rescue personnel and was later pronounced deceased.
Crash investigators say neither speed nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.
Preliminary findings suggest Manning may have experienced a medical event prior to the crash.
This remains an active investigation.
