NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Detectives have charged a man in connection with an ongoing homicide investigation.
On October 10th, around 8:30 p.m. police were called to the 1500 block of Kerrey Avenue for the report of a car accident. When officers arrived, they found the driver of the car suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
The man, later identified as Christian J. Williams, 48, of Norfolk, was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries.
The preliminary investigation determined that the shooting had occurred in the 4600 block of Kincaid Avenue and the man had driven to the 1500 block of Kerrey Avenue where he hit another car.
Following their investigation, homicide detectives have charged Jason M. Robinson, 35, of Portsmouth, with second-degree murder and use of a firearm.
Robinson was taken into custody by Chesapeake Police on December 29th for an unrelated matter and he is currently being held in Chesapeake City Jail without bond.
Detectives have not released a motive or any additional circumstances surrounding this homicide.
