NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A man has been taken into custody by Norfolk Police Officers following a barricade situation this morning in East Ocean View.
On August 13th, 2024, around 9:00 a.m. officers were called to the 3600 block of Pleasant Avenue for the report of a disturbance call. When they arrived, it was determined the man involved was experiencing a mental health crisis.
As a result, the Hostage/Crisis Negotiation Team and Special Operations Team responded to the scene, and following a brief period of negotiations, the man was taken into custody peacefully.
The man was transported to a local hospital to receive medical treatment.
No injuries were reported during this incident.
