[ARCHIVED] Bird & Bike

Bird Bike_Web Spotlight

Are you a nature lover who also enjoys cycling? Then we have the perfect activity for you! Join Norfolk Outdoor Recreation and the Elizabeth River Trail Foundation on May 18th for Bird & Bike, an exciting program that combines the thrill of cycling with the joy of birdwatching. Our route takes us along the scenic ERT, where we'll stop at various spots to look for birds with the Park Rangers. We'll also be conducting citizen science as we log all the species that we find.
Just bring your own bike and safety gear (helmets and vests) and you're good to go. And if you don't have binoculars, don't worry, we do have some available (but in limited quantities). Plus, this program is open to all ages, so bring your family and friends along for a fun-filled day of cycling and birdwatching.

The route will be 5.4 miles in total on the Elizabeth River Trail, starting from the E Water Street Parking Lot and ending at Plum Point Park. Warm-ups begin at 9:45 a.m. and the route starts at 10 a.m.

Online registration is currently open at https://norfolkfun.norfolk.gov so sign up now to secure your spot!
