[ARCHIVED] Man dies; Virginia State Police investigating shooting on Terminal Boulevard

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation has been asked to investigate a shooting on Thursday afternoon involving Norfolk Police.

On March 21, 2024, around 2:50 p.m. Officers were involved in a vehicle pursuit with a man who was wanted on several outstanding charges. During the vehicle pursuit, a crash occurred, and the man fired a weapon, at which time Norfolk Police Officers discharged their service weapons.

The man, later identified as Santonio P. Lee, 45, was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries where he was later pronounced deceased.

No officers were injured during this incident.

All Officers involved will remain on administrative duty pending the outcome of the active investigation.
