NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives have arrested and charged two people in connection with a shooting on Flanders Avenue over the weekend that left a woman injured.
On November 12, 2023, shortly after 4:00 a.m., Officers were dispatched to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for the report of a gunshot victim who had just arrived by car. When police arrived, they found a 19-year-old woman suffering from a non-life-threatening graze wound. The preliminary investigation determined the shooting had happened in the 3300 block of Flanders Avenue.
As a result of their investigation, Detectives charged: Deandre J. Lee, 19, of Norfolk, with malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied vehicle, four counts of attempted malicious wounding, and four counts of use of firearm, and Jasmine Z. Johnson, 21, of Portsmouth with malicious wounding, four counts of attempted malicious wounding, and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
Johnson and Lee are both currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
Detectives have not released any additional circumstances surrounding this incident.
