NORFOLK, Va. – On Saturday, October 22, at 1:00 p.m. the MacArthur Memorial will host Ukrainian Air Force Colonel Hennadiy Kovalenko. Colonel Kovalenko will present a public lecture entitled “The Russian-Ukrainian War: Recent Developments, Strategic Perspectives & American Assistance.” This 30-minute briefing will cover the history of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, it’s recent developments, proposed strategy for the future, as well as a history of American military assistance to Ukraine since 2014. A question-and-answer period will follow the briefing.
Kovalenko served in various positions in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian War, he deployed at the operation area and was responsible for coordinating international assistance within the framework of the Multinational Joint Commission of Military Cooperation and Defense Reform. He is currently serving as Ukraine’s Partner National Liaison Representative and a staff officer at the NATO HQ Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, Norfolk, VA.
