NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives are continuing to investigate a hit-and-run accident that left a man dead late Thursday evening.
On December 17, 2020 around 9:40 p.m., police responded to the 5600 block of E. Virginia Beach Boulevard, at the intersection of E. Virginia Beach Boulevard and Briar Hill Road, for the report of a man who had been hit by a vehicle. The preliminary investigation revealed that the man was riding on a moped scooter when he was struck by vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene.
The man was transported to the hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.
Norfolk Police will release the victim’s identity once the next of kin has been notified.
