NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Police Fugitive Detectives, along with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, arrested a Norfolk man Wednesday afternoon in connection with a homicide investigation from January 2018.
William G. Shahan, 42, was arrested Wednesday following direct indictments from the Norfolk Grand Jury surrounding the fatal shooting of 46-year-old Clifford Duty III.
On January 31, 2018, around 7:30 p.m. dispatchers received a call for an unresponsive man inside a home in the 1500 block of W. Little Creek Road. When police and fire-rescue arrived, they discovered Clifford dead inside the residence.
The Norfolk Police Department, working with the Office of the Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney, sought indictments for first-degree murder, robbery, and two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. The Grand Jury returned true bills Wednesday morning.
Shahan, of the 7900 block of Ransom Road, is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
