Harvey Lindsay Commercial Real Estate to conduct a feasibility study on construction of a new Class A Office building
Norfolk, Virginia. March 9, 2018. Harvey Lindsay Commercial Real Estate is pleased to announce that the City of Norfolk has granted the company an Option Agreement to conduct a feasibility study on the construction of a new Class A Office building located at the corner of St. Pauls Boulevard and Waterside Drive in Downtown Norfolk.
Chairman Harvey L. Lindsay, Jr., whose vision for and commitment to the City of Norfolk and the region are well-known, is entering his 65th year in commercial real estate. “A lot of exciting developments are happening in Downtown Norfolk,” he says. “And I thought the timing was right and the market is ready for a new office tower in Norfolk.” Mr. Lindsay developed Dominion Tower, where his office is currently located, and which is directly across Waterside Drive from the proposed site.
HL Development, a division of Harvey Lindsay Commercial Real Estate, is spearheading the project. President of HL Development, Dennis Richardson, notes that the goal is to develop an architecturally striking building that will crown the eastern gateway to downtown. Mr. Richardson says, “The building will meet the objectives of providing a healthy building embracing sustainable principles and will complement other resiliency initiatives underway in downtown. It is our further hope that the development at this location will be a catalyst to invigorate other new development in the St. Pauls Boulevard Corridor.” The architectural firm Hanbury is providing design services for the project.
For the next few months, the Harvey Lindsay team will be busy conducting the necessary studies, planning initiatives and leasing efforts to make this landscape-changing project a reality. Harvey Lindsay Commercial Real Estate intends to move its offices to this new building when completed. Billy King, President of Harvey Lindsay Commercial Real Estate, states that, “This work aligns with our plans for growth as we work to be part of the expansion of the Hampton Roads economy.” The company will handle leasing for the project with additional tenants to be announced in the coming months as development plans move forward.
