NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk police have identified the victim of the fatal shooting in the 7900 block of Orchid Avenue,Thursday night.
Just after 9:30 p.m., police responded to the 700 block of East Little Creek Road for a reported single vehicle crash. When police arrived, they found 25-year-old Patrick M. Cochrane, of Suffolk, inside the car suffering from a gunshot wound.
Cochrane was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he later died.
The investigation has revealed that Cochrane was initially shot in the 7900 block of Orchid Avenue and was found inside a vehicle in a parking lot in 700 of East Little Creek.
Detectives have not released a motive or suspect description; however, they ask anyone with information to call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or submit a tip through the P3 Tips mobile app.
