[ARCHIVED] Man dies from injuries following overnight shooting in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives are actively investigating a homicide after a man died from injuries sustained in a shooting early Monday morning.

Around 12:40 a.m., police were called to the 800 block of West 35th Street for reports of gunshot disturbance.

When officers arrived, they found a man outside suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Norfolk Fire-Rescue Medics took the man to the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital to be treated for life threatening injuries where he later died. His information will be release after his family has been notified.

Detectives have not release a motive or suspect description for this case; however, they ask anyone with information to call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
