[ARCHIVED] Overnight robbery, attempted robbery under investigation in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk police detectives are investigating a robbery as well as an attempted robbery that occurred overnight.

The first incident happened around 12:10 a.m. at a 7-Eleven at 124 Maple Avenue.

Investigators say the man entered the store, implied a weapon and demand money. The suspect fled on foot after they did not get any from the clerk.

Less than 30 minutes later, the same suspect robbed a 7-Eleven at 3805 Colley Avenue. During this incident, the man implied a weapon and demanded cash.  The clerk complied and the man fled on foot.

No injuries were reported in either incident.

The suspect is described as a black man around 6’ tall. He was last seen wearing a ski mask, black jacket with fur around the hood and blue jeans with white spots.

Police are asking anyone who may recognize this robbery suspect to call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
