NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) - Police re-classify early-morning shooting incident as active homicide investigation and request the public's assistance for leads.
At approximately 3:15 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 3100 block of Oklahoma Avenue for reports of a gunshot victim. Officers located Samad Brailsford (24) outside a residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Norfolk Fire-Rescue Medics transported Brailsford to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Brailsford was last known to reside in the City of Virginia Beach and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine his exact cause of death.
