NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk police are investigating a
shooting that has left one person dead.
Shortly after 6:00 p.m., police were dispatched to the 800
block of Hayes Street for a gunshot disturbance. When officers arrived, they
found an adult man inside an apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot
wound. Medics pronounced him dead on scene.
His death has been classified as an active homicide
investigation. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official
cause of death.
Police will release his identity after his family has been
properly notified.
Detectives have not released any suspect information at this
