Once-in-a-Generation Commemoration of America’s 250th Anniversary

Norfolk, VA — Volunteer Information is now available for the Commonwealth’s largest event honoring the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution from June 19-23, 2026 along the downtown Norfolk, Virginia waterfront.

During this time, thousands of volunteers will support the Sail250® Virginia tall ship fleet, Juneteenth celebrations, and the 50th Anniversary of Norfolk Harborfest, occurring simultaneously on the downtown Norfolk waterfront, “creating one of the most significant cultural and maritime gatherings in Virginia’s modern history” according to Sail250®Virginia CEO Karen Scherberger. Individuals, civic groups, military commands, and corporate teams are now invited to submit a Volunteer Interest Form to receive an application for a wide range of volunteer opportunities supporting this historic, multi-day celebration.

Prospective volunteers can explore roles ranging from crew center assistants, ships’ liaisons, and dockside guides to guest services and event assistants.
