NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Police have charged two people following a shooting in the 3500 block of N Military Highway.
Around 1:30 a.m. on November 5th, police were called to the 3500 block of N Military Highway for a gunshot disturbance.
Shortly after, around 1:40 a.m. dispatchers notified officers of two walk-in gunshot victims, one at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and another at Sentara Leigh Hospital.
Both were suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation determined all incidents to be related.
Following the investigation, detectives charged Brion L. Blount, 33, of Norfolk, with malicious wounding, use of a firearm, and possession of a firearm by felon.
Blount remains hospitalized receiving treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
He will be transported to Norfolk City Jail and held without bond once released.
The second person, Jia’Darius E. Poe, 28, of Chesapeake, was charged with reckless handling of a firearm.
Poe was released on a criminal summons.
