[ARCHIVED] Pedestrian injured following crash on Colley Avenue

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Police are continuing to investigate a crash on Colley Avenue that left a woman in critical condition.

Around 9:45 a.m. on September 17th, police were called to the 4700 block of Colley Avenue, at the intersection of W 47th Street and Colley Avenue, for the report of a pedestrian who had been hit by a car.

When officers arrived, they found a 74-year-old pedestrian suffering from life-threatening injuries.

She was taken to the hospital for treatment where she remains.  

The driver involved in the crash remained on scene.

This incident is being handled by the Norfolk Police Department's Traffic Team, and charges are pending the outcome of this ongoing investigation.

Investigators say speed and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors.

The Norfolk Police Department’s Traffic Division has issued 92 summonses to drivers traveling in the north Colley Avenue corridor year to date.
