[ARCHIVED] Norfolk Police charge 16-year-old in connection with ongoing homicide investigation

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) –Detectives have charged a 16-year-old following a shooting on Goochland Street earlier this year that left a 20-year-old man dead.

Police were called to the 900 block of Goochland Street on January 5th around 3:10 p.m. for the report of a gunshot victim. When Officers arrived, they found a 20-year-old man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.

The man, Isaiah T. Dukes, 20, of Norfolk, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries. 

As a result of the investigation, Homicide detectives have charged a 16-year-old male with second-degree murder, robbery, and use of a firearm.   

The 16-year-old was arrested by Norfolk Police on April 10, 2025, in the 1200 block of Monticello Avenue. 

He is currently being held in Norfolk Detention Center.

Detectives have not released a motive, or any other circumstances related to this incident.
