[ARCHIVED] Norfolk police investigating stabbing on Marshall Avenue

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives are continuing to investigate a stabbing at Norfolk State University that left a woman injured. 

On February 3rd, around 1:45 p.m. first responders were dispatched to 909 Marshall Avenue for the report of a stabbing victim. When Officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old woman suffering from a life-threatening stab wound. 

The woman was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. 

A short time later, police detained a person of interest, a 20-year-old woman, near the scene. 

The preliminary investigation determined two acquaintances were having a physical altercation in a parking lot when one was stabbed by the other.

Following this active investigation, the findings will be turned over to the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office to determine possible charges.

Police are not looking for any additional suspects.

Detectives have not released any additional details related to this incident.
