NORFOLK, Va. – (NPD) Norfolk Police have arrested a man following a shooting on Core Avenue that left another man dead.
Around 1:20 a.m. on July 6, 2024, Officers responded to the 1800 block of Core Avenue for the report of a gunshot victim. When Officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
The man, later identified as Bradley K. Kortbawi, 44, of Norfolk, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
As a result of their investigation, Detectives charged Vandes Jackson, 56, of Norfolk, with second-degree murder and use of a firearm.
Jackson was taken into custody at the scene and is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
