NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives have arrested and charged a 37-year-old man following a shooting on Dudley Avenue that left a woman dead.
On March 27, 2024, around 9:55 p.m., Officers responded to a home in the 600 block of Dudley Avenue for the report of a shooting. When police arrived, they found a woman suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.
The woman, identified as Jessica Ayers, 35, of Norfolk, was taken to the hospital for treatment, where she later died from her injuries.
As a result of their investigation, Detectives have charged Quinton D. Wade, 37, of Norfolk, with second-degree murder and use of a firearm.
Wade was taken into custody around 4:30 p.m. on March 28th and is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
