NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives have charged a 35-year-old man in connection with the abduction of an infant Sunday morning.
On February 11, 2024, around 7:32 a.m. police responded to the 800 block of Washington Avenue for the report of an child abduction. When Officers arrived, they spoke with a woman who said that an acquaintance had taken the child and left the location.
During their investigation, Detectives located Mickle in the City of Suffolk where he was taken into custody shortly before 1:30 p.m. without incident.
At the time of his arrest, the child was not found with Mickle.
With the assistance of Suffolk Police, the child was found safe at a family members home soon after in the 6300 block of Whaleyville Boulevard and returned to the care of her mother.
As a result of this investigation, Delsean M. Mickle, 35, of Portsmouth, has been charged with child neglect and abduction.
He is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond.
There were no injuries reported during this incident.
