[ARCHIVED] Norfolk Police arrest wanted homicide suspect

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives have arrested a woman wanted in connection with a shooting that happened in December on N Military Highway.

On December 9, 2023, around 5:20 a.m., Officers were called to the Econo Lodge located at 865 N. Military Highway for the report of a gunshot victim. When police arrived, they found a 52-year-old man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. 

The man, identified as Charles F. Moore, 52, of Norfolk, was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

As a result of the investigation, Taikisha C. Swift, 35, of Norfolk, was charged with second-degree murder, and use of a firearm. 

Swift was taken into custody in the 800 block of W 38th Street on January 25, 2024, by members of the Norfolk Police Department 

Swift is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
