Are you interested in training to become a lifeguard? Norfolk Parks and Recreation is hosting American Red Cross lifeguard training classes at the Southside Aquatics Center (1750 Campostella Rd.). Completion of a pre-test is required and includes:
• 300-yard swim (front crawl or breaststroke)
• Two-minute tread (legs only)
• 20-yard 10lb. brick retrieval / tow in less than 1 minute and 40 seconds
All participants must be at least 15 years old; participants under 18 years old must have a registration form completed by a parent or guardian.
Winter Session 2 classes will be held February 17, 24, and March 2, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
