[ARCHIVED] Juvenile charged in connection with stabbing on DeBree Avenue

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives have arrested and charged a juvenile following a stabbing incident Tuesday afternoon on DeBree Avenue.

On December 12th, just after 2:00 p.m., Norfolk Police were dispatched to Maury High School for the report of a stabbing. When Officers arrived, they found a 17-year-old male suffering from several stab wounds. 

The 17-year-old male was transported to the hospital with injuries that are considered to be serious, but non-life-threatening.

The preliminary investigation determined that the incident occurred outside of the school in the 1500 block of DeBree Avenue while the two males were having a physical altercation. 

As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old male was charged with malicious wounding and having a weapon on school property. 

He is currently being held at the Norfolk Detention Center.
