[ARCHIVED] Norfolk Police investigating undetermined death after body pulled from water

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives are continuing their undetermined death investigation after a body was recovered from Oastes Creek Sunday afternoon.

On November 19, 2023, around 12:30 p.m. Officers were called to the 8500 block of Culfor Crescent for the report of a body floating in the waterway. When first responders arrived, they found an unresponsive man. Norfolk fire-rescue responded and recovered the man's body from the water.

The man, later identified as Marcial-Castillo Macias, 33, was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

No foul play is suspected at this time.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official manner and cause of death.
