[ARCHIVED] Two charged following crash on E Brambleton Avenue

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Police have arrested and charged a 19-year-old woman, and a 17-year-old male in connection with a crash Monday afternoon on E Brambleton Avenue. 

On October 30, 2023, around 2:22 p.m., officers were in the 1700 block of Greenleaf Drive when they saw a stolen car drive past. The Officers attempted to pull the car over, and the driver did not stop. Police continued to pursue the car to the 1800 block of E Brambleton Avenue where the driver hit a curb and crashed. 

After a short foot pursuit, the occupants of the stolen car were taken into custody by Officers without incident. 

During the crash the stolen car rolled over, and a tire became detached and hit another citizen’s car. The citizen suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. 

The occupants of the stolen car were taken to the hospital, the driver was not injured but the passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment at the hospital. 

No officers were injured. 

As a result of the investigation, Detectives charged Alana K. Bagley-Clayton, 19, with the following: grand larceny, two counts of delinquency of a minor, child neglect, eluding police, and driving without a license. Bagley-Clayton is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond. 

A 17-year-old male has also charged in connection with the incident.
