Man Sentenced to 5 Years for 2022 Norfolk 7-Eleven Armed Robbery
NORFOLK, Va. – On Friday, 38-year-old Quentin Lamont James was sentenced in Norfolk Circuit Court to five years in prison for the armed robbery of a West Ocean View 7-Eleven clerk last year.
On June 2, 2022, Mr. James and 29-year-old Laquisha Shante Nock were armed with a gun and with garden shears, respectively, and entered the 7-Eleven located at 124 Maple Street. The pair approached a store clerk with their weapons in-hand, escorted her to the cash register, took $75 from the register after forcing her to open it, and fled on foot.
On Oct. 17, Mr. James pleaded guilty to armed robbery, and Judge Everett A. Martin Jr. accepted his plea with no agreement to Mr. James’ sentence. Today, Judge Martin sentenced Mr. James to five years in prison and three years of post-release supervision.
On Oct. 31, Ms. Nock pleaded guilty to robbery, and Judge Robert B. Rigney accepted her plea with no agreement to Ms. Nock’s sentence. She is docketed for sentencing on Jan. 12.
Senior Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Emily A. Woodley prosecuted Mr. James’ case on behalf of the Commonwealth, and Norfolk Police Detective Cody W. Morgan led the investigation.

Man Convicted of 2022 Norfolk 7-Eleven Armed Robbery
NORFOLK, Va. – On Tuesday, 38-year-old Quentin Lamont James was convicted in Norfolk Circuit Court of armed robbery after he held up a West Ocean View 7-Eleven clerk last year.
On June 2, 2022, Mr. James and a co-defendant were armed with a gun and with garden shears, respectively, and entered the 7-Eleven located at 124 Maple Street. The pair approached a store clerk with their weapons in-hand, escorted her to the cash register, took $75 from the register after forcing her to open it, and then fled on foot.
On Tuesday, Mr. James pleaded guilty to armed robbery, and Judge Everett A. Martin Jr. accepted his plea with no agreement to Mr. James’ sentence. Mr. James is docketed for sentencing on Dec. 22.
