[ARCHIVED] Suspect arrested following weekend shooting on E. Little Creek Road

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) - Detectives have charged a man in connection with a shooting on E. Little Creek Road.

On October 1, 2023, around 5:10 a.m., dispatch received a call for the report of a shooting in the 1800 block of E. Little Creek Road. Officers who were working nearby in a part-time capacity had heard the gunshots and were already responding to the location.  

The responding Officers initiated a traffic stop on a car, and the driver did not stop. Police continued to pursue the car to the 1300 block of N Military Highway, where the driver did stop and was taken into custody.   

Additional Officers responded to 1890 E. Little Creek Road and found a man suffering from a non-life-threatening graze wound. The man was treated on the scene by paramedics.

A car that had been driving in the 1800 block of E. Little Creek Road when the shooting happened was also damaged by gunfire. The driver was checked by paramedics at the scene and did not report any injuries.

As a result of their investigation, Detectives charged Jarrett R. Johnson, 33, with malicious wounding, use of a firearm, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and eluding police.

Johnson is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
