Temporary move to the Attucks Theatre effective Monday, Aug. 21
NORFOLK, VA – Norfolk’s Department of Human Services is temporarily relocating its vital customer service operations to the Attucks Theatre (1010 Church St., Norfolk, VA 23510) to accommodate essential building renovations at its current facility.
Beginning Monday, Aug. 21, residents seeking assistance with benefit programs, housing support for children and families, safety and wellness support and other essential programs will find the team ready to provide service at the Attucks Theatre weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Protective services and programs will continue serving residents around the clock. Residents seeking public assistance can apply online anytime.
The Attucks Theatre was selected as an alternative site as it is equipped to accommodate all essential services with the same convenience and access currently provided at the department’s primary site on Monticello Ave. Building renovations at its permanent facility are expected to be completed in early 2024.
Norfolk Human Services understands the significance of these services and the team remains steadfast in its commitment to serve and support residents. Anyone requiring assistance is encouraged to visit www.norfolk.gov/humanservices or call (757) 664-6000.
