[ARCHIVED] Suspect arrested, undetermined death ruled a homicide

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) - A man has been arrested following the death of an 84-year-old woman.

On June 13th, around 11:45 a.m., police responded to a home in the 2700 block of Dominion Avenue for the report of an unresponsive woman. When first responders arrived, they found Liu-Chih Howell, 84, suffering from life-threatening injuries. Howell was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiners Officer, the undetermined death was classified as a homicide.  

As a result of the investigation, the victim's grandson, David M. Macronald, 34, has been arrested and charged with 2nd degree murder. 

He is currently being held at the Norfolk City Jail without bond. Macronald is also facing other charges unrelated to this incident.
