[ARCHIVED] Norfolk Police charge student with possession of a firearm at Granby High School

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Around 11:30 a.m. on WednesdayOctober 26tha school resource officer at Granby High School responded to the report of a student in possession of a weaponDuring the investigation, a handgun was recovered from the backpack of a student.


As a result, a 16-year-old male was charged with possession of a firearm by a juvenile and possession of a firearm on school property. The teenager will be held in the Norfolk Detention Center.


No injuries were reported during this incident.
