[ARCHIVED] HRUBS Billing Remains Suspended Due to November 17 HRSD Ransomware Attack

Norfolk Utilities' customer billing was impacted by the November 17 HRSD computer system ransomware attack. As a result, billing remains suspended for all customers and HRUBS account balances, including HRUBS payment assistance, have not been updated. This does not mean that funding has been depleted for the Utilities HRUBS Payment Assistance Program. Please allow additional time for account balances to be updated. HRSD phone and computer systems remain offline and inaccessible.

HRSD Information Technology professionals and cybersecurity consultants continue working to safely restore business systems affected by a November 17 ransomware attack.

Customers will not incur late fees or interest on delayed payments as a result of this incident and customers who have made payments should disregard any automated messages they may receive related to delinquent or unpaid bills. All payments that have been made will be posted as soon as the system is restored.

Customers wishing to pay bills in person with cash may do so weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 1434 Air Rail Avenue, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Bills may also be paid by phone by calling 844-257-6063, paid online here, or by check/money order at any dropbox location

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate our customers' patience as we work to restore normal business operations.
