NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A driver is in critical condition after his vehicle collided with a power pole Monday morning near the intersection of W. Little Creek Road and Hampton Boulevard.
Dispatchers received a call about a single vehicle accident in the 1600 block of W. Little Creek Road around 7:30 a.m. When police arrived, they located the driver who was suffering from life-threatening injuries that occurred during the crash.
The 75-year-old man was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment.
The preliminary investigation has revealed the man suffered from a medical condition that caused him to loose control of the Ford Focus he was driving and strike the power pole.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
