[ARCHIVED] Man dies following Tuesday’s shooting on Norchester Avenue

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives are investigating a homicide that has left a 33-year-old man dead.

Around 10:00 a.m. on August 18, 2020 police were dispatched to the 900 block of Norchester Avenue for the report of a gunshot disturbance. Soon after officers arrived on scene, they were notified by dispatch that a man had arrived at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with a life-threatening gunshot wound related to the incident.

The man, Charles A. Sparks, 33, of Chesapeake, was pronounced dead at the hospital as a result of his injuries.

Detectives have not released a motive or any suspect information surrounding this incident.
