NORFOLK, VA – Families facing heating emergencies this winter can apply through Thursday, March 15th for the Crisis Assistance Program. Assistance covers expenses for primary heat security deposits, utility heating bills, repair or replacement of heating equipment, or primary heating fuel.

www.commonhelp.virginia.gov, or pick up an application form at any Norfolk Department of Human Services location.
Applicants must reside in the locality in which they apply and be responsible for heating expenses. Maximum monthly gross income (before taxes) for a one-person household is $1,307 and $2,665 for a household of four.
Assistance is based on availability of funds. Crisis Assistance is a component of the Energy Assistance Program, funded by the federal Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program block grant.
