[ARCHIVED] Social media threat made toward Norview Middle School

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Last night around 11:40 p.m. Norfolk Police received a call about a possible threat on social media toward Norview Middle School stating, “Shooting up Norview Middle School tomorrow”. An investigation to identify the source of the threat was launched immediately.

 

Additional officers have been assigned to the area of Norview Middle School as a precautionary measure. Norfolk Police and Norfolk Public Schools want to assure the community that we take every threat against the safety of our students seriously.

Anyone found posting threats on social media face a Class 6 Felony resulting in up to 12 months in jail and/or a $2500 fine.
