[ARCHIVED] Police respond to double fatal shooting in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Police are investigating a shooting in Norfolk that has left two people dead.

Shortly after 7:15 p.m., police responded to Northampton Blvd near N. Military Highway for a gunshot disturbance call. When police arrived, they located two abandoned vehicles in the eastbound lanes of Northampton Blvd. Not far from the vehicles, police located two men suffering from gunshot wounds on the ground. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have contained the scene to Northampton Blvd and N. Military Highway.

The identities of the men will be released once their families have been notified.

Detectives have not released any further details surrounding this homicide investigation; however, they ask anyone with information to call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
