NORRFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A 25-year-old Norfolk man was arrested
on murder and other charges in connection with a weekend homicide in Norfolk.
Gary Lee Drew Jr., of the 400 block of E. Little Creek Road,
is charged with one count each of 2nd degree murder and malicious
wounding, and two counts use of a firearm in commission of felony.
The charges stem from the deadly shooting of 31-year-old
Claude M. Smith, in the 1000 block of Ivaloo Street early Sunday morning.

The arrest was the work of a combined partnership between
the Norfolk Police Department and the U.S. Marshals.
Drew was arrested this afternoon by members of the Norfolk
Police Fugitive Squad and U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Norfolk without
incident. He is being held in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond. As
soon as the booking process is complete, his booking photo will be available on
the jail’s website.
