[ARCHIVED] Pennsylvania man identified in fatal hit-and-run crash

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Police have identified the pedestrian in the hit-and-run crash that killed a 27-year-old Pennsylvania man Tuesday night.

The pedestrian has been identified as John Cutillo III of the 500 block of S 9th Street in Philadelphia.

Detectives say that around 10:40 p.m., first responders were called to the intersection of Saint Paul’s Boulevard and E. Charlotte Street for a motor vehicle crash with injuries involving a pedestrian.  Once there, Cutillo was found lying the in intersection unconscious. Despite medical care, Cutillo was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation has revealed that a red Jeep SUV was driving recklessly southbound on Saint Paul’s Boulevard and struck Cutillo while he was attempting to cross the intersection of E. Charlotte Street. The SUV did not stop.

As a result of the initial collision, a second vehicle, a Cadillac Escalade inadvertently struck Cutillo. The driver of the Cadillac stayed at the scene.

Police are asking the public’s assistance in locating the red Jeep SUV, which should have front-end damage.
